Our Clinic

Be Well

We help people be forward-looking and strive to live life to their fullest potential.

This includes pursuing mental, physical, spiritual, financial, and educational wellness. In order to reach for the highest, truest expression of ourselves, we must experience wellness, as it pertains to every facet of our lives. In order to do that, we must be truly ‘well’. We want this for people in all walks of life, regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, or socio-economic status (all the things that make us different and unique), and we’ll work collaboratively to reach for it—together.

The "Lived It" Advantage

Our Philosophy

Every provider at Reaching for Wellness—including founder Kisha Gilliard-Wise—has walked this path personally. We don’t just prescribe these programs; we live them. Whether it’s balancing hormones or managing metabolic health, our team uses the same treatments we offer our clients. This lived experience allows us to relate deeply, listen fully, and support you authentically because we know exactly what it’s like to be in your shoes.

Reaching for Wellness is a nurse-led practice serving Baltimore County and the surrounding areas. Our founder, Kisha Gilliard-Wise, spent over two decades in the nursing field before becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. She saw firsthand the gaps in traditional medicine—specifically for women navigating peri-menopause and menopause. She created this practice to bridge that gap, offering medical weight loss, hormone optimization, and aesthetics for everyday people who want to invest in their quality of life.

Meet Kisha Gilliard-Wise

Kisha Gilliard-Wise is a native of Baltimore City and is a married mother of three. She graduated from high school from The Institute of Notre Dame, and became a Registered Nurse after earning an Associate of Science degree from Essex Community College in 2001.

Kisha furthered her education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing Education both from Notre Dame of Maryland University; then, she went on to become a Family Nurse Practitioner by earning a Post-Master Certification from Coppin State University in May 2020.

Kisha has worked in multiple hospitals throughout Maryland and in other states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and South Carolina, in a variety of capacities. Over her past 20 years in nursing, she has specialized in critical care, orthopedic-trauma, cardiology, education, and management.

She has received several awards and recognitions for outstanding clinical and non-clinical services throughout her career. Kisha is a member of The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society, and is also a member of The Maryland Nursing Association.

Kisha is deeply committed to providing holistic care collaboratively with her patients to improve all aspects of their lives. In doing so, she considers the effects that illness may have had on the patient, both physically and mentally, as well as their cultural differences, spirituality, and personal relationships. She treats each patient individually.

This approach has earned Kisha the love, respect, and lifelong relationships with many of her patients and colleagues along the East Coast. In her spare time, Kisha enjoys reading, researching historical events, and writing. She resides in Maryland with her family and fluffy cats, ‘Wonk’ and 'George'.
